TABLE TOP PICK-UP DRILL 80 YARDS
- Place a target at 80 yards, C-Zone size steel preferably, but anything that will give you immediate audio or visual confirmation of a hit will work.
- Rifle loaded on table, muzzle down range, round chambered, safety ON, start with hands above shoulders. On command, pick up the rifle and deliver a single hit. Safety ON when rifle is dismounted from shoulder.
EXPERT= under 1.75, INTERMEDIATE= under 2.0, PASSING= under 3.0. Note: When shooting rifle offhand (standing without braced support), the key is trigger control. The sights may be wobbly on target, but the best approach is to accept the wobble and press the trigger smoothly. Forcing the shot to break when the sights are still will likely result in a miss. Trigger yanking can move the entire frame of the gun before the round exits the barrel.
